Why Choose Solar House Address Signs?
Solar house address signs are powered by the sun, making them an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional lighting. They come equipped with LEDs that are illuminated by stored solar energy, ensuring your address is visible even after sundown. Most units feature a dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically turns the lights on when it gets dark and off when the sun rises, providing convenience and energy efficiency.

Drill with 5mm & 10mm Drill Heads: For making holes for mounting and cable routing.
-
Level or Tape Measure: To ensure alignment and even placement.
-
Wire Cutter/Stripper: For preparing electrical connections.

Anchor Bolts (if necessary): Depending on the type of exterior wall surface.
-
Block of Wood and Rubber Mallet (optional): For securing the sign flush against the wall.
-
Silicone Glue (optional): For additional securing of the sign.
Choose the Right Location
Select a spot that receives ample sunlight throughout the day. Avoid placing your solar backlit house address sign under shaded areas like large trees or building overhangs. The solar panel needs exposure to sunlight to charge effectively.
Additionally, consider the placement of other light sources nearby. The solar panel features a dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically turns the lights on and off based on ambient light levels. If there is another lighting fixture close to the solar panel, the sensor may detect its brightness and mistakenly prevent the solar panel from turning on automatically.
Choose a location where external light sources do not directly influence the sensor to ensure optimal functionality of your backlit house address sign.
Installation Steps Straight Onto a Wall/Pillar
1: Unboxing: Remove the sign carefully. Place your address sign on a soft cloth to avoid scratches.
2: Cleaning the Surface: Clean the wall or pillar where the sign will be mounted.
3: Marking for Drill Holes: Attach the rods to the designated holes on the back of the sign. Position the plaque against the installation surface and mark where the drill holes will be.
4: Drill the Holes: Drill holes at the marked spots—5mm for the rods, 10mm for the cable.

5: Attaching the Sign: Apply silicone glue into the drilled rod holes if desired, or insert the plastic anchors into the holes and then insert the rods. Route the electrical cable through the 10mm hole.
Connecting to Solar Power Source
1: Preparing Wires: Cut wires to the needed length, ensuring enough slack for connections, and strip ½ inch of insulation from each end.
2: Identifying Wires: For the address sign, the grey wire with a black stripe is positive, and the white wire is negative. For the solar panel, the black wire with white dots is positive, and the solid black wire is negative.

3: Making Connections: Connect all grey wires to the positive terminal, and all white wires to the negative terminal. Use wire connectors to securely insulate the connections.
4: Installing the Solar Panel: Position the solar panel stake in a location that receives direct sunlight for optimal charging. Connect the wires to the panel according to the provided connectors. The solar panel can be mounted to the wall or roof using the mounting brackets included in the package.
Dusk-to-Dawn Sensor: Our solar panel is equipped with a dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically turns the house numbers on when it gets dark, providing hassle-free operation and energy efficiency.
5: Connect and Test: Once mounted, let the solar panel charge for a few hours. At dusk, observe the lights to ensure they turn on automatically. If they do not, check to make sure the panel is in a sunny location and that nothing is obstructing the solar cells during the day.
Solar Panel and Remote Control Features
Our solar panel is equipped with a dusk-to-dawn sensor that automatically turns the address sign on when it gets dark, providing hassle-free operation and energy efficiency.
You can use the solar panel stake to place it on the ground, or you can also mount it to the wall with the mounting hardware included in the package.
The solar panel itself has two buttons: one to turn the panel on or off and another for mode selection. The mode selection button allows you to change the lighting scenarios, including SOS and blinking modes, which can attract more attention to your address. Furthermore, our solar panel is equipped with a Type-C charging port and comes with a Type-C charging cable. This feature is especially useful during cloudy weather, allowing you to charge your solar panel directly to ensure continuous operation.
Our solar panel comes with a remote control, allowing you to easily manage its features. With the remote, you can turn the panel on and off, choose from four different lighting scenarios, adjust the brightness, and even set a timer for its operation.

Connecting to Transformer Power Source
If you select the transformer option, our transformer comes built-in on the back of the address sign.
1: Turn Off the Power: Turn off power to the work area by shutting off circuits at the electric service panel.
2: Preparing Wires: Cut wires to the needed length, ensuring enough slack for connections, and strip ½ inch of insulation from each end. If needed, extend the wire using the extension wire included in the package to ensure it reaches the outlet or plug.
3: Attaching the Sign: Run the wire through the drilled hole at the back of the sign. Attach the sign to the wall by aligning the threaded studs with the pre-drilled holes and securing it in place.
4: Connecting the Wiring to the Outlet: After attaching the sign to the wall, connect the wiring to the outlet to complete the installation.
5: Powering On: Once all the connections are made, plug the adaptor into a power source. Your address sign will now light up and enhance the visual appeal of your home.
Plug-in Installation Option: A plug is included in the package. For plug-in installation, wire the sign to the included plug and connect it to a standard outlet.
Utilizing the Transformer with Timer and Remote Control: If you selected the transformer option, it includes a timer and remote control for enhanced functionality. Refer to the separate installation manual provided with the transformer to set up and customize the timer settings.
Important Note: If you are not familiar with electrical connections or feel unsure about the installation process, it is recommended to hire a qualified electrician. They have the expertise to ensure a safe and professional installation, giving you peace of mind and a satisfactory result. Your safety is our top priority, and professional assistance can help avoid any potential risks or electrical hazards.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning: Regularly clean the address sign with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners to prevent scratches.
Inspection: Periodically check and tighten any loose components. Ensure waterproofing remains intact.
Troubleshooting
No Light
- Check all connections and power sources for continuity. Ensure the solar panel is not shaded.
- For optimal performance, the solar panel needs to receive direct sunlight for at least 5-6 hours each day to fully charge. On cloudy days, the battery may not charge sufficiently, and the lights might not stay on until morning. Please ensure that your solar panel has received direct sunlight to fully charge.
- Adjust the Panel: If needed, relocate the solar panel to a spot that gets more sunlight throughout the day.
Dusk-to-Dawn Error
Confirm Darkness: The dusk-to-dawn sensor only activates in the dark. If the panel is in a lighted area or during the daytime, the sensor will not turn on the lights. Ensure that the panel is placed in a sufficiently dark environment at night.
Test During Daytime: To test the sensor during the day, cover the solar panel with a dark-colored object or place it face down to block the sensor. This should trigger the lights to turn on.
